I was wondering why would a duckling just roll up and die in an incubator a couple of hours after it hatched. I've been hatching other chicks and turkeys and everyone else is fine. Duckling hatched on its own. No blood or left over yoke.

I am not a hatcher, but maybe you can tell us what the temperature was, if there were any issues during incubation, what the humidity was, what breed of duckā€¦.

    Very sad for your loss.

    What was the humidity?

    That can affect development.

a temp of 100 to 99 is best but 98 shouldnt have killed it, it might have had more internal troubles, like its heart hadent developed the right way.

From anything I have read about humidity that sounded like a good humidity. Little critter just may have had some congenital difficulties.[IMG]
