duckling got leg stuck in weeds ripped its skin off

There is something called sawgrass, and another one, cut grass, that grows on pond edges, and the stems have little teeth, just like a tiny hacksaw. I have gotten into that, and yes, it will filet ya. Glad for the improvement, and

I was just thinking that, lol! Just read that Native Californians living on the delta used to use cat tail reeds to cut the umbilical cords of newborns.

Oh wow! Learned something new.

I'm glad he is doing better. You are doing a good job of keeping it nice and clean. Now comes the fun part of trying to keep him calm and still. Maybe a buddy would help him stay calm?

Manuka honey would be good if you can get hold of some it's like a miracle in a small jar! We use it on horses, sheep, dogs, anything that's hurt. To bandage a horse that injured itself recently we covered the wound with a thick layer of the honey wrapped it in a mepore and then vet wrap over that it should work perfectly. I'm posting from Ireland so I don't know if ye have mepores or not but its anything with a soft pad that won't stick to the wound, the honey will promote skin growth and keep infection out to a degree. hope your little duckling is doing ok :)
