Squirt is a creasted, he is way smaller then the rest i was told they all hached at the same time but he didnt tell me when they hatched...i think the man lied to me.
Update... Some of the exposed tissue is turning
green. I still have not been able to find a place that will help a demestic duck...i called all the vet
in the área and the wildlife places. Wildlife will not help because he is a demestic duck. He still eats, drinks, squacks and poops, his attattuide has not changed at all. More relaxed with squirt
Kathy is on the west coast, I want her to see the pics. And Amiga too. But I'm thinking the next time you clean it, maybe leave it open with nothing on it for an hour or two. Kinda like when you put a bandaid on a cut on yourself. It helps to get some air too. I'm not sure what is causing the green though. @Amiga - does this green color look normal?
Okay - gangrene will set in if the wound does not get enough air.
Do not cover the wound, and if the ointment is like petroleum jelly it won't let in enough air. Switch to a cream, or just rinse the wound with saline solution or Vetericyn - the wound needs air.
Also - get an oral antibiotic - duramycin may be the way to go.
added - don't put anything more on the wound - keep it open, rinse it often.
