Duckling has Irritated Eye

Hello, I have 4 ducklings that are about 8 days old now and one is particularly runty. It hasn’t really been a problem, they all get along fine, but I noticed today that he actually has something strange on his eye. I’ve attached pictures of both eyes, one irritated and the other normal. I was wondering if someone could help me treat or diagnose the problem.

Has this just started? Might be irritation from dusty feed or bedding if no other symptoms like discharge from the eye or nares? You could use a saline rinse for eye ( recipes online) or dab some terramycin eye ointment around the eye.some even use neosporin

Yes, I just noticed it at the time of posting. It seems to have gone down on its own, but I will keep an eye on it thanks.

That sounds good maybe she washed her face off good and it was an irritation. Can they dunk their whole heads in water.

Yes they just started dunking their heads today, so exciting!!
