Duckling making Honking noise

    Two of my ducklings just started making a honking type sound every once in awhile does is this a sign of sex? First time having ducks

    Honking? yep, means girls. [​IMG] They can be quite the chatty things, but in Mallard derived ducks voice is usually your first indicator of sex, by about as young as 5-6wks..

    I think our first peep-honk was at three weeks. Don't know who, it was at night (the brooder was in the guest bedroom).

    Oh yayyyy they are around 4 weeks and every once in a while let out a raspy honk :)) think my big guy might be a boy cause he is around 7 weeks and still making peeping sounds..

    My Pekin female used to honk when she was that age. Was the funniest thing, and was the inspiration behind my backyard chickens username!
