Duckling pipped but now what!

Hey BYC! My duckling had pipped yesterday night/morning but somewhere around that time. I woke up this morning and he/she still hasn’t done anything. Still right now no sign of bigger holes! He/she is chirping and keeps moving the egg but when should I assist? Or will he/she hatch tonight?

Is it external or internal?

If its internal then it will hatch about a day or two after it pipped. If its external then wait until it's been 48 hrs before assisting.

Sometimes, they need a long rest after pipping. It's hard work for the little guy/girl. I normally wait 24-36 hours before assessing the situation. More trouble is caused by assisting too early than waiting it out. As long as it's moving around or peeping, every once in a while, just leave it be. Good luck and post pics when it hatches.
