My ducklings are around a week old now and I would like to start giving them treats. I looked at buying chick grit for them but the bag says they should be two weeks old for it. I also read somewhere that you can start by giving them a clump of grass with dirt still attached and the dirt will act as grit.looking for advice. Ideas opinions. Should I wait another week for grit and treats, start with grass and dirt or go ahead and start grit and treats now?

The only grit I use is the sod clumps, or a dish of sand. What type of treats? In general all young poultry are better off getting only the starter for the first few months in order not to develop any deficiencies.

I am meaning like greens and veggies.
