Good morning. I have a Bantam hen sitting on 4 duck eggs (our Rouen hens were not interested so she took over). They pipped this morning and I can hear the ducklings "talking" (cute!). I noticed the hen pecking on one of the eggs. Is this normal behavior? I know it can take quite a while for the ducklings to completely hatch, but I don't want her to end up hurting the ducklings. Thanks!

I don't have too much experience with mama hens hatching ducklings, but I think it's normal for them to "help" the chicks out of their shells.

That's what I was hoping. Thanks!
