Hey, I have a 6 week old Muscovy duckling, I’ve had him since he was around 3 weeks old, I’ve held him, he follows me around, eats an drinks very well, but one thing I’m not sure of is when I go to pick him up like I have been for the last 3 weeks, he’s all of a sudden walking/running away or raising his head feathers? I don’t know if he’s thinks we’re playing or something else? Please respond

Muscovy's tend to be tamer than the average duck, but that doesn't mean they like to be held. At certain ages their instincts make them more afraid. Do you have more than the one duckling?

Hey thanks for your reply, he loves being held once I’ve picked him up, he lyes in my arms for hours without me forcing him too (he’s super lazy) he’s just puffs/raise his head feathers when I’m trying to pick him up. An yes I do have another duckling, it’s a 3 week old mallard duckling dingle, they’ve been together for 2 weeks now. Get along very good an now since dingles gotten bigger he’s now living in a big cage with Dudley. I hope this helps, thanks
