I have four Indian Runner ducks that I bought as hatchlings 3 months ago. I raised them in a brooder but swam them in a large stock water tub every other day....They loved it. After they were mostly feathered I moved them to a large pen with free access to the water tank...they loved it. 2 weeks ago I moved them to their new coop next to a large pond and they hate it!!! It is stocked with fish and every time a fish or frog splashes they come unglued and run for their coop. Seriously?? They stand and look longingly at the water but refuse to go in. Help! Has anyone else had this problem?

Their instincts are protecting them. Any chance there's a snapping turtle in there? They'll go for ducks.

No snappers just a lot of fish. My brother made the mistake of feeding the fish when we put them at the pond and the water literally boils when the fish are eating. will they relax about them??

Fish may go for their feet as well like just nibble on them, just give them time either they'll accept the water or not its all up to them :). Best of luck :).
