Ducks & Chickens (When to separate?)

Colonel is just about 9 weeks old while Duchess is almost 7 weeks old. Our 3 Buff Orpington pullets are almost 13 weeks old. I know I will have to separate the ducks from the chickens once Colonel becomes sexually mature but how early can I separate before he does?

Should I move the pullets to the older flock once they are close to laying?
Should I separate once Colonel is close to being sexually mature?
When will be the right time to separate them?

You can keep them together as long as there are not problems. Just keep an eye on them and use your best judgment.

Will he be the only Duck? He might be happier having a Duck Hen to keep him company. You can separate them at any age. I'd definitely try getting the young chickens into the other flock soon.
