ducks digging holes

does anyone know how i can stop my cayuga and khaki from digging holes along the inside border of the pen its gettin bad they are 16 weeks old

ducks forage..cuyogas really love to forage..looking for slucks and bugs. my ducks don't usually dig, but they jam their beak into the ground all over the yard, i'm not really sure how to do that since its kind of natural behavior..maybe they're bored..do they have access to a pool or water..maybe sprinkle some meal worms around in there so they will find them as they forage and keep themselves occupied..

i have a pool for them and always feed but i understand about foragers they keep their bills to the ground may have to reinforce the run

Totally normal and will only worsen as they age. My birds free range but i can always tell an area they have stayed in for awhile, frankly though chickens are worse they dig, like plant things in them size holes!
