My pekins love romaine lettuce. I had bought a 6 pack at Sam's and they have already eaten all of it, with the help of my rabbit and turtles. I just got a recall notice stating that the lettuce may be contaminated with E. coli? I can't seem to find anything online about how/if E. coli contaminated lettuce might harm them. Can anyone offer up some help? They don't seem to be sick or act sick, just concerned. Thanks :)

Common symptoms in most bacterial diseases include listlessness, weight loss and loss of appetite. Although this isn’t E. Coli specific this would be what you want to look out for.

Specifically the contaminated lettuce comes from around Arizona. Maybe call your Sam’s Club and ask where they get their shipment from?

I believe I just got the romaine hearts--are those in the recall?

I posted a few days ago that my khakis don't seem to be eating as much. But I wasn't to sure how much they were truly eating or dumping on the ground before. They are not loosing weight and seem to be healthy though. I got to toss that lettuce.
