Ducks laying more eggs when a male is present?

I find it controversial but lets the experts with more waterfowl experience have opinion on this.

Ducks will lay eggs regardless of males present or not- In fact you may get less eggs if your duck goes broody and sits on the fertile eggs. At least when no males is present all eggs can be collected for eating. Sometimes people just dont think when they write stuff like that. It looks very much like someone without alot of experience has written some information of the top of their head without basing any of what they write on facts - very general basic information has been given on that site.

According to Holderread, ducks lay better without frequent mating activity.
