This was posted by a group i belong to on Facebook. Poor duckies need a home! Looks like they are being kept in horrible conditions.

Here is the verbiage and pictures:

"My mother-in-law decided to surprise our kids with 4 ducklings for Easter. Then a week later, we ended up with the additional 2 she didn't want in her house. We didn't want them in the beginning, and we want them even less now.

FREE!!!!! 6 ducklings to a good home. Perfect for someone with a large pond or a lake. FREE!!!!!!! 3 are yellow and 3 are brown & black (I would say they are mallards, but not knowing anything about ducks, I wouldn't swear to it)"

Awww, poor Easter ducklings. I hope that's just swimming water and not their drinking water that they're standing in. I'm pretty close but I don't think it would be wise for me get another duck, let alone six! Columbus is a big city in an agricultural area; there will probably be someone around who'll take them in.

I would not blame the family who received the unwanted Easter gifts, I would blame the one who gave them the ducks. Every year you see it, people buying them because they are so cute and then a week later, don't want them for whatever reason. Like black cats at Halloween. Around here some animal shelters won't adopt out black cats during October for just that reason.

I have six ducks of my own and don't need anymore right now. Hopefully these little guys find a good home. Ducks are so messy but how can you stay mad at these silly guys? I mean, I can be having the worst day ever and go see my little guys and they are always so happy and silly that I just have to smile. They are good therapy.

I agree about the recipients, i just hope they havern't just thrown the ducklings into the back yard, and are caring for them till a new home comes along. It is just to typical of what happens so much of the time. And yes messy they are but such good therapy as you stated. Can't help but smile when you see them.

Yes I hope they are taking good care of them until a new family arrives. Another thing I have noticed people do is dump young ducklings off at public parks with ponds or banks/office buildings with ponds.

Contact Carolina Waterfowl Rescue @ [email protected]. They may be able to help you locate a new family to take them or they may have someone come by and pick them up and transfer them down to the rescue. I adopted my ducks from them a couple years ago and they are a good group of people. They take in a lot of these types of throw-away animals and find them good homes with people that understand what it takes to care for them.

Perfect! I 'liked' them on FaceBook, they take real good care of their ducks.
