ducks stopped laying

I have a pekin and a mallard females, they suddenly stopped laying. I had two drakes and one got bit by a rattler and died about a month ago. Could this be the reason they stopped laying?

I'm sorry for your lose.

It could possibly be a reason, distress can influence a lot of things. Any other changes, living area? diet? weather? Have you felt them to see if they have any eggs brewing?

Do they typically lay in the same spot? Asking in case the possibility they could be laying more than you think and some rodent might be sneaking off with the eggs.

Other possibility is they are finished for the season?....
