I'm pretty sure my eggs aren't going to hatch. I'm very bummed out. I have been candling them and there are no veins or dark spots. One even has the red ring thing. I wonder what I did wrong? Bummer, bummer, bummer.

Sometimes there aren't any satisfactory answers for the tough questions in life.

The first 6 (due Monday) are from a friend with a bantam rooster and normal sized hens, so I kinda figured they wouldn't hatch, just thought it would be fun to try. The 8 others are due Friday, and I bought them and had them sent to me. I want to try again but I wish I knew what went wrong so I could try to fix it.
What do you usually do with you dud eggs? Throw them in the trash? Bury them? I figure they probably sink real bad if broken.

The right temp, humidity, and turning is important to get them to hatch. Also, those you had sent to you may have been too shaken up during shipping

Usually I just throw mine in the woods or bury them in the garden. They do tend to stink, but the ones that weren't even fertile to begin with aren't as bad as the ones that started to develop
