dumb broody and chick question..

so after the chicks all hatch and fluff up... when does the mamma take them out of the nest??

... i was wondering if there is like a general rool of thumb.. or if i should be consernd after a certin amount of days... that kinda stuff.. others experiances..

The babies don't have to eat for 3 days. They absorb the egg yolk, which is what makes shipping chicks a possibility. If you have water and food where they can reach it, they'll come out and momma will show them the ropes. On day 3 or 4 our mama hen usually has the babies at the feeder. Relax and enjoy the experience.
