Three nesting boxes, three hens. Simple, right? Well, unless you're a Dumb Cluck!!!

Everybody fights to get into that nesting box, while the other ones are lying empty.

Nobody likes that empty box on the left. I dunno. [IMG] Maybe it's haunted or something?

[IMG] That is funny. I have hens that do that too. What our chickens do. Gotta love them

LOL, mine have favorite spots, too! I've seen 3 at a time, all saying it's MY box!

I guess that is what makes them a bit endearing. They are a bit goofy. Beautiful birds. Are they ISA Browns?

Quote:Aw, thank you. I never really think they're anything special cause yes, they ARE just plain old ISA Browns. They came from a farmer woman close to us who buys in 1000s of chicks at a time and raises them for the big egg producers. She always buys a few hundred extra for herself to sell as well. She has really high standards and her POL pullets are always plump, sleek, glossy and very clean smelling. Then they come to me and spend their days scratching about in the mud and having their feathers all messed up by my roos...

Welllllll, it's pretty obvious that the nest box to the right is the best one! [IMG]

Yeah, it's just so... well... OBVIOUS. [IMG]

Obvious that the chickens know something about it that I don't, that is. LOL!

Found four more eggs in that box this afternoon, and none in the other two...
