    Okay..dont laugh at me...but..
i got to thinking today..(and we all know thats scary enough...) [IMG]
but where do our veggies originate from?
as in: Broccoli, cauliflower, cucumbers, squash, corn...etc..etc..etc
Where do all these veggies grow wild? What countries.... etc...
Where did we get the seeds to grow these veggies we have today?? They must come from wild veggies somewhere in the past.....??

Well...corn is originally from the Americas...although I'd imagine most if not all of the veggies we use have been selectively bred from some kind of wild ancestor, and don't exist in the wild in their present form.

I just planted all of those seeds in my garden today.

I didn't even notice where the seeds came from other than Baker's Nursery!

I believe quite a few of them came from Africa and Asia. Way back from the biblical and roman times.

I do know that when the tomato was decovered, they thought it was poisonous. Red is "mostly" unsafe.

And that was South America for the tomatoes.
