The chicks are a week old, is it time for a little something to dustbathe in?

What is the best material to put in their kennel? I have sand, peat, etc. on hand & thought I'd put in a little bowl of something. Their base bedding is still newspapers + papertowels.

    Cheers,

At a week old, you can be using pine shavings for their litter. Ours love to dust bathe in the shavings but I usually fill a shallow bowl with playsand for them when they are 2-3 weeks old for dusting.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for responding to that because I was about to ask that question myself. Playsand...meaning like for a kid's sandbox?

Yes, kids playsand. We get ours from Lowe's.

So glad I could help! [IMG]
