is d.e. good to put down in the coop & run to helpkeep the bugs down?
last yr i bought a small can of white powder put it down in the coop the run and even dusted the chivkens with it, ive addd more chickens this yr so instead of the small can i got a big sack of d.e. will tjis be as good??

Don't waste your money. Take the sack of DE back to where you bought it from. I'm not sure if your run is on a slab, soil etc. Sand and dirt is fine for chickens to dust themselves. Spreading DE in the coop just creates more fine dust particles for chickens to breathe and cause respiratory problems. DE won't prevent mites. Good housekeeping, a dry environment in the coop, inspecting birds, a regiment of disinfecting, and Permethrins / Ravap emulsified concentrates, will kill and prevent mites/lice. That's why my birds never have any.
