Nine week old Dutch is Hawkeye's son that I hope will be part of a three-rooster Dream Team of Zane, Dutch and Mace, every one a son of Lexie and Hawkeye. Doesn't that boy look just full of himself, LOL?

Dutch is a Barred Plymouth Rock. Here's his half-sister, then his mother, Lexie:

Those are some pretty birds. One of the sweetest hens I ever had was Blackie the Barred Rock. She would sit on your shoulder whenever you came into the coop. The neighbor kids had raised her in their bedroom until she was 8 weeks old. She just loved people.

I rehomed her (about 3 years ago) to a BYC member when I lived in Texas. Their kids wanted her to be a "show chicken" [IMG]

With Dutch's two half sisters that are his own age, I have 10 Barred Rock hens and pullets total and 3 BR roosters/cockerels, all full brothers. I love my BRs.

I have two six-week-old BR girls. One has been a monster since I got her. Until this morning. Somehow, overnight, she decided that I am not her enemy. She let me PET her when I went to visit this morning. What the heck happened to that bird overnight?
