Dyed / Colored Chicks

I am curious about the laws on coloring chicks then selling them later. I know that many companies sell them as Easter Chicks. But I am looking at doing it more to learn males from females, etc. But I sell my chicks as well. So will I get in trouble living in California if my chicks still are slightly colored when listing to sell?

I thinks it is illegal to sell the ester egg chicks, it is where I am anyway. But what you can do is put some color on the top off their heads so you can tell, everyone who sells I know does that, but just letting you know, I'm not an expert in law.

It's also illegal here in Va if you are selling them. It's not illegal to color the heads to mark them though ,that was a good idea

.You could also band them

There are many different ways to "mark" your birds besides coloring their feathers/fluff.
