ear lobes look like water ballons

To anyone who has the knowledge, Help what does it mean if my chickens ear lobes look like partially filled water balloons ?


This was yesterday and now today they look like normal wrinkly earlobes ?? I wasn't hallucinating it was bizarre but today she looks fine. My Plymouth Rock is 1 year old ? should I be worried?

Well that is a bit odd?
I dont think I have ever heard of this before.
Maybe just keep an eye on it, and if it happens again, snap a picture and post that. Maybe then someone will be able to comment for you and help you out!

I have heard it happening as a response to a bite or sting. If it is back to normal then I wouldn't worry too much. She stuck her head where it wasn't welcome.

My mille fluer hen had it. She had it on and off for about 4 months. After the 4 months she just passed away, something was going on but i didnt know what to do, and like your chicken it would get big and scary looking then go away. It was only on one side and she was about 3 years old.
