Early Bumblefoot - can I treat with only antibiotics?

    My first post! Through this site, I've discovered that my hen has bumblefoot. Thanks for all the great tutorials!
    Three days ago, my hen had begun walking on her tip toes and sitting a lot. I looked at the bottom of her pads, and one has the small scab. But they both still feel soft. Can I doctor her with medication and not by "surgery" at this point? I may call the vet tomorrow to see if they'd sell me the medication.

    Thank you!!! I just noticed the tricide-neo post after my post... whoops! So many ways to treat!

    I soaked her feet tonight, applied neosporin on the scab, and wrapped. Hoping this might soften the scab. That's about as far as my nurse abilities go....I will keep studying to come up with a plan!
