I know that most pullets start laying between 18-22 wks., but can they start laying before then?

Last year my first egg was at 17 weeks. I'm sure others have had it happen earlier. I have also read on here of hens who do not lay till a year old. Yes, there is a lot of variation.

I had two birds that started laying at 17 weeks. I saw a thread on one pullet that layed much earlier. Can't seem to find it right now.

Best if they don't start before 20 weeks. Don't put lights before 20 weeks.
