Easter Egger 7ish weeks

Hi everybody! We bought one straight run easter egger chick and I have found conflicting evidence online about whether our little Cinny is a roo or a hen. If anyone can help us decide that would be so appreciated!

Agreed…. Only one of my EE hens has a comb that large. The others have much smaller combs. I hope I’m wrong though!

Yikes, I just counted back and had my dates all mixed up. So actually more like 7 weeks, not 10. Sooo not looking good for Cinny then

I would say definitely cockerel especially if under 2 months. Are you able to keep him?

Not really. We are new to raising chickens so keeping a rooster feels out of my league. The small local farm shop we purchased our chicks from is owned by a wonderful woman who will take back any roosters and find them happy homes where they are wanted and needed so I'm not worried about his future.

ick!! he/she looks like my 7 week old EE :-( Say it ain't so!!! And...no, no plan for what to do if she IS a he, sadly. I'll ask on our local chicken social media pages if someone want him...but if not...oh, perish the thought!!!
