Hi everyone!

I was told I have an EE and this is the only chick with the cheek puffs. Should be about 6 weeks old. Is it looking like a rooster or hen?

I don't see any peacomb coming up yet but I'm seeing a touch of pink at the top...

Hi there and welcoem to BYC! :frow

EE don't have to have puffy cheeks as there is NO standard of perfection for them and so many don't. Some of those being sold by Hoovers/TSC are even straight combed. I do think they're cuter and more distinguished from others with the beards/muffs.

It doesn't look like a cockerel yet, but 6 weeks can still be early for some breeds and individuals. Wattles are the first thing to turn red.

That other plump comb in your second pic would be suspect cockerel if the same age.

Can you update pictures in a couple weeks? I am suspicious it's a cockerel but I'm on the fence. It has a rose comb which is interesting-almost looks part Wyandotte.
It looks like a pea comb to me

I agree that updated photos in a few weeks could help check the gender, and they may clarify the comb type as well.
