I purchased some Easter egger eggs from a lady back in January and the hatched February 3rd. 2 I am pretty sure are hens, but this black one I think is a roo but I am not sure he is an Easter egged because I can't find a picture of one that is all black. He might be half. Can anyone here help me out?[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Two solid black Easter Egger pullets that I've bred.

And their mother, who is half Barred Rock.

Your boy has a cushion comb (pea comb gene combined with rose comb gene) so may have some Wyandotte in his ancestry.

That is possible. I think they came from the same hen as the lady I got them from only had one hen laying, but that doesn't mean another hen snuck an egg in that nest. the eggs were not all the same shade either. 2 were olive and one was like a blue color. Which makes sense if the hens hatched from the darker eggs. I can't remember.
