I've been trying the deep litter method for the past month or so, but I just noticed that some of my chickens are eating the paper shreds, and I'm assuming that's not good. I also have a chicken right now that looks like she's egg bound, but I'm wondering if it might be something to do with the paper.

Wow, I hate that for you. I know my chickens will eat anything at least once so I try to watch. I wonder is she's filled up on paper and is not getting the nutrition that she needs. I'm not sure if that can cause the egg bound status though.

Are you treating the chicken that is egg bound, there are several good threads on here regarding how to resolve this safer
