Hey, does anyone know if I can make Chicken Fajita's out of rooster's?
Chop em up and call it a day!!!
Im kidding just put him in a kill cone gut him and chop up the breast and cook it in olive oil with salt pepper and cayan pepper of chilli peppers then put that into a fajita bread and put whatever toppings you want on it. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions!!
Ok, thank's! I already have 3 of them in my freezer, but need to do 3 or 4 more cockerels still. I was looking for some variety in the menu on them.
I don’t mean this in a sarcastic way, but why wouldn’t you be able to make chicken fajitas out of a rooster.. am I missing something?
Or were you just asking for a recipe?
I was just wondering if the meat from a roo would be too tough for them.
Ah I see. I would think it wouldn’t matter much if you let it properly rest and cook it with some nice juices, especially if you shred the chicken.

I made a smashing chicken and dumplings the other day... Would be good for an older bird .
We processed our extra cockerels this past weekend - one is slated for chicken and dumplings as well!
I may have to make some fajitas with one as well. These boys were only 15 weeks old, so they'll still be nice and tender. I'm sure tho with the right marinade and cooking the meat slowly, an older bird would work just as good. I picked up two packages of tortillas yesterday at the store..they had a bin of them for .25 per package. Thanks for giving me an idea what to do with some of them!
