There is a long curved feather at top of tail that does not show in the picture. It's not crowing. Do I have a cockerel?

Are you sure on the 4 months? I'm getting a male vibe from it but should be showing more defined male features by this age. Could be a sterile cockerel I reckin.

I was thinking the exact same.
The chicken has a green tint on his saddle feathers.
If it was 4 months old I would have thought if it was a rooster or hen
    It would be more matured?

I'm also in the "cockerel but younger or stunted" camp.

You are correct- I looked back through my calendar and it hatched in early Sept , not August. So it is 3 months old. [IMG]
