Is this Americana/EE a hen or roo? I think that he is about two months old???
Defenitley a roo.
I'm not sure. Could we see a side pic?
maybe a pullet
how are the tail feathers,
some EE's girls will have a pea comb
Quote:My EE girl has a pea comb. so did the boy so you really have to look at the saddle and tail feathers.
If its only about 2 months and the comb is that red I would guess a roo
What should the saddle and tail feathers look like for a hen or roo?
If it is 2 months old, then I say boy. The comb is too pink & pronounced to be an EE pullet that young. Just in case it is older, since you 'think' it is 'about' 2 months old - can you post a sideview picture? The pointy saddle/hackle feathers won't show this early, but the feather color/patterning on hatchery EEs is important too.
Here is a side view...
Thanks for the extra pic - Cockerel.
MAN...he sure is pretty!! That's gonna be one gorgeous adult bird!!!
