EE hens and EE chicks / pick up only / Aiken, SC

Discussion in 'Buy Sell Auction - Archives' started by Dipsy Doodle Doo, Feb 23, 2008.

  1. Hi!
I have 2 brown EE hens for sale --- hatched summer '07. One is bearded, one is clean-faced.
Both lay blue eggs and the bearded one is a 'proven broody' (in fact, she's on eggs now).

    The hens are $10.00 each.
Those eggs should be hatching around Mar 1st (I candled them this morning and all are good) if you want EE chicks --- $1.50 each.

    Thanks,
    Lisa

  4. Hi!
    Angelica, Got it and replied.
I wish you were closer too, Henry.

The eggs should probably stay here until they hatch.
The hen can go any time and I can move the eggs to another broody or a bator to finish.
OR the hen and however many chicks you want can go together.
Either way, they are all for sale [IMG]

Also got several other EE hens about the same age (green eggers in blue, black, splash).

Got started chicks: Silkies, Cochins, Seramas, Barred Rocks, Ameraucanas, Naked Necks and Pekin ducklings.
Email or post here with any questions.

I need chickens who are child friendly...i have a 4 yo and a 2 yo, so you can just imagine the oohing ahhing and touching that will be going on!! so probably chicks are best. unless your hens are super sweet! [IMG]

Dipsy, that hen looks just like the one I have except she lays green eggs.I want one that lays the blue eggs but I'm in Conway and Aiken is 3.5 hours away.

  10. Hi Angelica, Either place is fine [IMG]
These hens are not kid-friendly. They're not mean, they just avoid contact if they have a choice.

The EE chicks are likely to be flighty as well, depending on which roo fertilized the eggs (there are several possibilities: an EE, an Araucana, or a NN x Cochin cross).
I wanted you to know in advance they don't tend to be 'people birds'.

There are lots of other breeds and crosses here to choose from if you want 'friendly'.
I'll get pics today of who is in the brooders [IMG]

SCG, I'd offer to meet you but I don't drive.

Thanks, Julie! It IS a beautiful nest of eggs --- made me go "Oooooh!".
I thought the contrast of the 'almost camouflaged' hen on the nest and just the eggs was neat.
