Egg Candling. Dead or alive?

Hey! This is my first time incubating. Temp has been stable at 100.5, 50% humidity. Candling I can’t tell if this egg is dead or alive? Anyone able to help?


If it is dead, what could have caused it?

Hey! Thanks. Yes, and I have multiple hygrometers. It was a shipped egg. Was developing very well up until now, candled day 7 and doing great. Now day 10, looks like this.

Give it another 5 days and candle again.. looks like there may be some veins

Wait a little longer before tossing it out.

I’d wait as I’ve had eggs look dead and then show movement a few days later. Is there any movement at all?

Update:

Candled it again. There is a lot of movement. I think the chick is just overly developed for Day 10 and it blocks the light. Its definitely alive

Always pays to wait… I’ve had a duck egg show nothing all during incubation and then turned out to be the only one that hatched…

Golden rule of hatching…
If in doubt wait it out!!
