Well, I think it's just excess calcium. You didn't give much info, but if she's young, her body might be working out the process. If she's old, her body may be forgetting process. Then there is molting that interrupts things in strange ways sometimes. As you found out, they are perfectly safe to eat.NO SORRY WE ATE THEM BUT NEXT TIME I GET ONE I WILL POST THANKS
Well all paint looks different wet than dry..The bloom, or excess calcium, can change the egg color when wet.
