I found what I thought was my first soft shelled egg yesterday but when I pulled it open this morning it was not like any egg I've seen. I have 8 hens who are just over a year old and no roosters. I have one EE who hasn't laid since early January. She has always been rather finicky about laying....last to start to lay and first to stop over winter but her eggs were normal when she has laid. I'm not sure who laid this egg but my other 7 hens have been laying normally and all seem healthy and happy. I give them oyster shells on occasion along with their regular laying feed and have not had any issues with sodt shells before. Any ideas what this is and if I should be concerned? Thanks!!
