Does anyone have a hen who has laid eggs during the night?

Quote:Does it lay in the nest box or while on the roost? I've had one the was startled and layed while on the roost it just droped to the floor and broke.

I've got a hen that every now and then (maybe every 2-3 dozen eggs) lays one at night, and whe she does so, it's always smack in the middle of the floor. The rest of her eggs are always in the nest box.

I found one on the floor, right under the roosts, this morning at 6am. It was cooled off, so I assumed it was laid in the night.

Mine has been for the last 5 nights! I don't know what's up. [IMG] I guess that's when she feels like laying. [IMG]
