I just got 2 pekin ducks, a male and a female. And the female has been layin eggs since the day I got her. And I have been collecting them because it is cold out here in CT. Are the eggs fertile, I would like to know if they are fertile, and how to tell. Also if I would be able to hatch them myself and what the steps are. I am new to owning ducks and don't know very much at all about hatching, incubating, etc.

read all of the stickies at the top of the page to become educated on ducks, their needs (basics)

You can crack eggs open and compare to the image below to know if they are fertile.

you would need an incubator and turner to incubate them yourself in the house

you will need a brooder with proper heat source, food and water for when/if they hatch

you will need waterfowl starter or chick starter (and added niacin source) to feed them

they will need to be inside all winter until fully feathered out
