I found this egg near the nest boxes. But it has no shell and has something wierd coming off of it. Is this pureply calcium drgficiency? The hens have layer ration and get Oyster shell. What happened?[IMG]

It could be a calcium deficiency, it could just be a fluke. It happens sometimes. How long have they been laying?

That happens every now and then. I've had it happen with young pullets, and I've had it happen when I switched coops and the stress caused weird egg laying patterns and defects. If it keeps happening, look into their diet, could be calcium.
