I was reading this chicken book, and it says that in 1979, a white leghorn laid 371 eggs in 365 days. How is this possible?! Or is it not possible? I only though they could lay an egg a day...
It is completely possible for a chicken to lay more than one egg in a day. It has happened with one of mine on at least two occasions that were nice hard eggs and a couple more that were soft shells. Other people have reported it around here as well.
