I've got 18 hens all about the same age. Finally started getting eggs this past week. This morning I noticed a new egg. It's much bigger and an extremely light tan color. I've got 3 buffs, 8 RIRs, 3 black sex links, 3 barred rocks and one ee, who would you think would have laid this very light colored rather large first egg?

often pullets lay double "oops" egg if you will.

All of those lay brown eggs, except for the EE, so I can't guess who would have laid it, except to say that the EE is most unlikely. [IMG]

Thanks Alaskan. After I posted, I did some reading and found out that one hen can lay eggs of different shades. Later in the day, one of my hens that I thought had already laid hadn't. I figured it out after that. It was one of my RIRs.
