I have always gotten very nice dark golden egg yolks from my hens. This morning I cracked two eggs that had very pale yellow yolks. Any idea why this would happen and should I be concerned?

Sometimes I'm not impressed with my yolks, until I see a store bought. Even when it is pale, it taste so very much better than the store bought. I also find that it depends on what they eat. For example, when we have crawfish or crabs and give the chickens the shells, the next few days the yolks are so very dark. Once they were on the verge of being red.

hen-thusiast: I love that link!! Thank you!

I did change food for one bag, then went back to Layena. Hmmmmmmm...... I thought I was doing a good thing by adding a high protein ADM layer feed, but i guess the proof is in the yolk.
