We have been getting 8 eggs from our 8 chickens almost every day. Including 1 giant with double yolks in it. Then yesterday only 5. Some of our friends love it as we sell them the eggs for only $2 a dozen. The more I look at my setup for the chickens I may have to make it bigger next year! Worry about our first winter first I guess.

They are becoming more pets than just chickens. Put 2" of styrofoam around the nesting boxes today so they stay warm. I had planned to take it off come spring but I think I will enclose it so it is permanent. Not sure if you are a hockey fan but Go Habs!

Definitely enclose it otherwise they will eat it. Chickens seem to go crazy for Styrofoam.

Should be no problem as the styrofoam is on the outside
