My broody hen has hatched 6 of 10 eggs and now has chicks running about so has left the nest. There are 4 remaining eggs and I float tested them and at least 2 of them wiggled so are potentially viable. What shall I do? She doesn't seem interested in sitting any more.
Its really warm here (Greece) so the temp is ok but they won't be getting the humidity needed.
This always seems to happen when I have a broody with eggs

If she’s done, she’s done. How long has she been off them?

She was still pretty much sitting yesterday. The last chick hatched overnight, but she’s had enough now and the chicks are whizzing about so she’s preoccupied. Just wondered if there was any way to help them out. I’m trying to borrow an incubator.

Depending on how long the eggs have been left they may no longer be viable , good luck though!!! :fl

Hold hope. They go four hours without even slightly dropping rates. Do you have a heat lamp?

You could also use uncooked rice in a sock WARMED up in a microwave. Gets hot fast so start off with 10 - 20 sec in micro depending how big a sock you use. Retains heat alot longer than water bottles, I think. Use of temp heating pad on sore muscles ...
