Thank you as well, I am going to need ALL the support I can get when the chicks are hatching.
Also I need some advice, I have a hairdressers appointment tomorrow. It usually takes nearly all day, should I go or stay at home looking after my babies? If I go I am worried the temp might go crazy and I won't be here to adjust it but if I stay I think I might go crazy worrying. what do you think?

i think going to the hair dressers would be a good thing it will take your mind off it for a bit and remeber this is the most natural thing in the world those chicks know what there doing and if the bator is keeping it temp today it should be fine gives you a break i know when mine are in lock down im gonna keep out of the house as much as i can so im not running to the bator every 10 seconds and being tempted to help or anything like that.
and the set up looks fine what you have to think is under a hen how much room do you think they have they're normally all crammed in so i doubt they have as much room as yours have

but the good thing is that I should be able to hear the chicks chearping tomorrow night

I would distract myself, also. I have a Master's Degree in Worrying, and the best thing I can do for myself when I am involved in something that needs patience, is to find something else to do -
can't wait till you can hear the peeps!!!!!

what is the shortest time you have had a chick hatch in? They shouldn't hatch while I am gone should they?

never had a chic hatch yet im new
but from what ive heard it can take 24 hours plus dont think its an exact science just yet

I am guessing ( this is what happened last time

) that I will hear cheaping tomorrow, have pips the next day ( I may have pips in the bantams tomorrow ) and hatching the next day. OOooooo I just felt a little excited
