    I had so much fun hatching my first set. I put 6 eggs in, only 2 hatched but the other 4 weren't even fertilized. I hatch my own mixed breeds, all with cochin daddy's.
    Anyone else have a hatch day for Feb 6?

    Jan 6th set of 9 eggs
    2 Light Brahma/EE
    2 pure Light Brahma
    are viable and show growth, 5 were infertile
    move to hatcher & lockdown tonight

    Jan 13th set of 12 eggs

    6 Light Brahma/Barred Rocks
    2 Pure Light Brahma

    I dropped and spattered one BR that was developing... so that would have been 9 doing well
    3 were infertile
    move to hatcher & lockdown on Jan 31st

    ================================================================
    I have a LG no fan holding at 101F on the wire and 55-60% Humidity
    that I am going to use as a hatcher, because I have 8 more eggs in the auto turner in the 1st LG with a fan that aren't due for lockdown until the 31st.

    Has anyone read the book "200 eggs per year"?
    There is alot of information on incubating & hatching and feeding in it..

    I have 7 buff orps (friends eggs) 3 lavender orps & 6 black orps (both shipped) although my incubator had the plug pulled accidentally overnight & got quite cool, so I may get nothing [IMG]
