Hi all

I am on day 16, first time hatching eggs
All eggs are wobbling, not much but you can see them moving if you watch closely

In others experience if you see the eggs moving now, (seen them moving for a few days but now a lot more obvious)
should I go into lockdown earlier than day 18?

many thanks

I would put them into lockdown early. It wouldn't hurt and moving eggs indicates the chick moving in to hatching position and the turner could mess that up.

Nope, not at all. After day 14 it's perfectly ok to stop the turner. At this point the embryo's could not fuse to the side of the shell because they are capable of their own movement.

Thank you for your reply

Could it be damaging turning off the turner too soon? Tonight will be end of day 16

I have had chicks hatch on day 18. The incubator could have been running warmer.
I lock down on day 16. Just the way I do it.

OK thank you! I've put them all in lockdown, I'm out for dinner at the moment but I'm so excited to check (from the outside) for pips when I get back!
