I have heard that you can sex an egg by its shape. Is this true?

Really pointy eggs are Roosters and normal will be Hens

That's a new one to me; my first thought is to say "no way" but I'd be open to seeing some actual data, and some criteria for what degree angle, for instance, makes an egg pointed versus rounded.

If this were true hatcheries would only hatch out hens.

Thanks for your imput, I have only recently hatched some chicks under a broody hen. Such a wonderful experience for myself and the kids.

This has got to be false. If it was like this why would hatcheries hatch out pointy end eggs.
